Allan Olson

Allan K. Olson, age 90 of Hixton, died Monday, September 4, 2017 at Pigeon Falls Health Care Center in Pigeon Falls.
He was born in Whitehall, WI on June 7, 1927, the son of William and Cora (Johnson) Olson. He married Virginia Ray on November 6, 1959.
Allan was a dairy farmer for the majority of his life, selling the farm in 1981 to semi-retire and move to town. He also was the sexton (caretaker) of East Lawn Cemetery in Alma Center and Pole Grove cemetery in rural Hixton for 30 years; he was the former mayor of Hixton and he held numerous positions on local and county boards. His hobbies and interests included: playing cards, shaking dice, camping, deer hunting, going downtown Hixton for coffee and in his younger days, he and Virginia liked to travel. Allan also enjoyed spending time with his family as he and Virginia raised 3 of their grand-daughters.
He is survived by a son Michael (Jean) Ray of Hixton; a daughter Jackie (Harold) Mades of Edgerton; 7 grandchildren, and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death are his parents; step-mother Gladys; wife Virginia; a son Gary; and a grand-daughter Karen Pronschinske along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 8, 2017 at Northfield Lutheran Church with Pastor Marla Ahles-Iverson officiating. Visitation was held from 4 – 7 p.m. on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Jensen-Modjeski Funeral Home in Hixton and 1 hour prior to services on Friday at the church.
Burial was in Northfield Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Arrangements are with Jensen-Modjeski Funeral Home, Hixton.
