Don R. Wilkinson, “Butch”, 74, of Black River Falls, passed away Monday, Dec. 18, 2017 at Mayo Clinic Health System-Eau Claire.
Don Robert Wilkinson, son of Randolph and Alice (Scott) Wilkinson was born April 21, 1943. He was raised in the Town of Bridge Creek, rural Augusta, where he attended Kirkham Valley Country School and graduated from Augusta High School. Butch served in the United States Navy. After his honorable discharge he returned to Augusta, where he was united in marriage to Rebecca “Becky” Warner.
Butch and Becky owned and operated their service station and laundromat in Augusta before moving to Merrillan.
While in Merrillan they also owned a laundromat in addition to Butch working for Thompson Motors. They later moved to Black River Falls.
Butch is survived by his 2 sons, Todd Wilkinson of Black River Falls and Dennis and his wife Emily Wilkinson and their children, Amara, Connor and Caitlin all of Osseo; sisters, Margaret Hadorn of Eau Claire, Ethel (Bob) Holmberg of Menomonie; mother and step-father-in-law, Bessie and Jim Whalen of Augusta; in-laws, Peggy Wilkinson of Fairchild, Wendy (Vern) Luedtke of Ludington, Wade (Cheryl) Warner of Augusta, Dusty Warner of Augusta, Cole Warner (Anne) of Holmen; Cindy Warner of Altoona and several nieces and nephews.
Butch was preceded in death by his parents, Randy and Alice; wife Becky on Jun 19, 2017; brother, Charlie Wilkinson; step-mother Ethel Wilkinson; father-in-law, Robert Warner; and in-laws, Ernie Hadorn, Robert Kutcher, Crystal Dake and Kit Warner.
A visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 29, 2017 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, with private burial at a later date.
At Butch’s request no formal services will be held.
