Harriet A. Kaufman
Harriet A. Kaufman (Schroeder) 92, of Rosemount, Minn. (formerly of Augusta, Wis.), died peacefully on Jan. 19, 2018 after a long journey with Alzheimer’s. She is now at peace with her loved ones in heaven and reunited with her husband, John; and alongside her son, John and daughter -in-law, Cassandra. Survived by her loving daughters, Elizabeth (Michael) Rud, Sue (Rick) Meemken; grandchildren, Alicia Heim, Rebecca, Rachel Meemken, Ethan Rud, Sarah (Rick) Wesley; great grandchildren, Melissa, Ayden Tenley; brother, Bob (Vivian) Schroeder; and other family and friends.
Harriet was the first born to Rudolph & Matie (Bann) Schroeder in Augusta, Wisconsin on December 21, 1925. She graduated from Augusta High School in 1944 and went on to college at Eau Claire State to receive her degree in Education. In her early college years she started dating John F. Kaufman; they were united in marriage in 1951. Harriet taught English for several years and then she and John moved to Rosemount, Minnesota in 1959 where they raised their family. She was strong in her Catholic faith and instilled that faith in her children. Harriet enjoyed gardening, crafting, baking and had a sweet tooth. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 31 at Church of St. Rita (8694 80th St. S., Cottage Grove, MN), with visitation on Tuesday, January 30 from 5:00 - 7:30 p.m. at Kok Funeral Home (7676 80th St. S.) and one hour prior to Mass at the church on Wednesday. Interment will be at 2:45 p.m. at East Lawn Cemetery in Augusta, Wis. on Wednesday, January 31.
