Janice Klebig
Janice Eileen Klebig, age 91, passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 25, 2017, at the Trempealeau County Health Care Center in Pigeon Falls, WI.
She was born August 26, 1925 in Whitehall, WI to Albert and Emma (Johnson) Eid, baptized and confirmed at the United Lutheran Church in Pigeon Falls. She married her soul mate, Byron (Bob) Klebig of Whitehall, on Nov. 24, 1945 at her home church in Pigeon Falls. They were married 63 years at the time of his death, losing the love of her life on Feb. 12, 2009.
They lived in Whitehall until 1950 where Janice was an office secretary at the Trempealeau County Extension Office. Then they moved to Winona, MN where she was employed at McConnon & Co., First National Bank as an office secretary, and employed 23 years at the Winona Printing Co. as the office manager, retiring in 1987.
Janice was an active member of Central Lutheran Church in Winona for nearly 50 years until they moved to Osseo in 2000, joining the Osseo Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was a very sincere, friendly, organized person who enjoyed helping others, assisting many elderly friends with their finances.
Janice is survived by one sister, Harriet Hong of Osseo, sisters-in-law Helen Eid of Osseo, and Muriel Eid of Madison. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who were very special to her, and her to them.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Gordon, Vernon, George and his wife Florence Eid, and brother-in-law Gordon Hong Sr. She is further preceded by her father-in-law Carl Klebig, mother-in-law Hazel Klebig Hestiken, and step father-in-law Elmer Hestiken. Brothers/sisters-in-law include Vivian & Norman Peterson, Laverne & Donna Klebig, Lorraine & Ray O’Donnell, and Larry & Gladys Klebig.
Janice was one of those truly wonderful women who warmed your heart when you were with her, whether family, friend, or stranger. She will be sadly missed by everyone who knew her.
Visitation will be held at the Osseo Evangelical Lutheran Church in Osseo on Tuesday, August 29th, from 11:00am to 1:00pm, with funeral services to follow at 1:00pm. Burial will be at the Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery in Pigeon Falls.
