Penny (Zell) West

Penny Marie West (Zell), 49, of Trempealeau, formerly of Augusta, passed away Monday morning April 30, 2018 at Mayo Clinic Health System-LaCrosse.
Penny Marie Zell, daughter of Wendell and Jennifer (Kattestad) Zell was born Aug. 12, 1968 in Osseo. She was raised with her sister in rural Augusta, and was baptized and confirmed at the United Methodist Church in Augusta. She attended Augusta Elementary School and graduated high school from the Full Gospel Mission Church School in Wilson Township, Eau Claire County.
Following graduation Penny moved to Galesville and lived in an apartment with her sister. In 1999 she was united in marriage to Randy West in Ettrick, and to this union their son Jordan was born. Penny had worked as an aide at the Marinuka Nursing Home in Galesville, and in the business office of Kwik Trip in LaCrosse. She eventually took a position with Empire Screen Printing out of Onalaska.
Penny’s love of her life was her son Jordan and she cherished the time spent with him. She also like growing plants and had vast collection of Boyd Bears that she loved to display.
Penny will be deeply missed by her son, Jordan West of Trempealeau; mother Jennifer and David Goss of Osseo; sister Carla Zell of LaCrosse; other relatives and friends.
Penny was preceded in death by her father Wendell on Jan. 7, 1989; her maternal grandparents, Leonard and Olive Kattestad; and paternal grandparents, Art and Lola Zell.
A time of celebration will be held Friday, May 11, 2018 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta. Burial will be at a later date in the Thompson Valley Cemetery, rural Augusta.
