Ronald A. Rindahl Sr.
Ronald Ames Rindahl Sr., 80, of Janesville, WI, passed away Saturday, July 29, 2017 in Beloit Memorial Hospital.
He was born June 23, 1937 in Osseo, WI, the son of Leonard Sylvester and Agnes (Loken) Rindahl. Ronald was a 1955 graduate of Osseo High School, Osseo, WI. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Berlin Crisis. Ronald married Sylvia “Sal” J. Raether on May 25, 1957 in Augusta, WI.
Ronald was employed by General Motors in Janesville, WI, for 43 years, retiring in 1996. He was a lifetime member of the NRA and a gun safety leader for 4-H. Ronald was a member of the FAA and flew his own plane for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, anything outdoors and riding his Harley.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Sylvia “Sal” Rindahl of Janesville, WI; son, Ronald (Lisa) Rindahl Jr. of Janesville, WI; daughter, Marie Ayen of East Troy, WI; grandchildren, Nicholaus Ayen, Matthew (Stacey) Ayen, Nicole (Jared) Bauer, Danielle (Cary) Ewing and Jessica Bollig; sisters and brothers, Carol Watenphul of Augusta, WI, LeRoy Rindahl of Augusta, WI, Julie (Ronnie) Bjorgo of Strum, WI, and James (Jackie) Rindahl of Osseo, WI; brother-in-law and special friend, Loren Raether of Delafield, WI; other special friends, Jeff and Tammy Waller, Randy Helgeson, Randy Wellnitz, Fred DuPree, Rollie Manthei, Mark Manwell, Michael and Tracy Ayen and the Ford Garage Folks.
He was predeceased by his parents and brother, David Rindahl.
Funeral service for Ronald will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 3, 2017 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with Pastor Norman Starks officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
Memorials may be given in his name to the Wisconsin Wildlife Federation.
