Augusta City Council to consider options for city health insurance
The Augusta City Council was presented with an eight percent increase in health insurance premiums by the health care consortium it is a part of at its monthly meeting held last week Tuesday, Oct. 8 at city hall. All members of council and city government were present.
The council may consider other health care other options if it wishes as part of the overall budget process. A public discussion of the 2020 city budget is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 6:30 p.m. at city hall.
In other agenda items, the council unanimously approved an animal control agreement, approved waiving the city's open container ordinance for the Lincoln St. Live event this Saturday, Oct. 19 and unanimously approved a pay request of $209,609.30 for Tax Incremental Financing (TIF) District No. 4 as part of the street project.
