Fall Creek Village Board approves zoning code amendment

FALL CREEK - The Fall Creek Village Board approved a the second reading of an amendment to Title 16 of the Village's Cod of Ordinances at its May 11 meeting at the Village Hall.

FC Village President Tim Raap stated that the amendment requires a conditional use for a parking lot in the Downtown Business District and allows one only as an accessory to a principal structure. The amendment passed unanimously.

The new term of the Board was now underway and all committee assignments and appointments were approved.

Village auditors Dan Carlson and Madison Hageness addressed the Board regarding the year-end audit for 2025. Carlson reported they issued an “unmodified” audit opinion, which is the highest level of audit a municipality can receive. Carlson & Hageness continued by highlighting noteworthy items for each fund and stating that overall, the Village was in good financial position. The Board voted unanimously to accept the audit report.

There was a closed session of the Board on two agenda items. The first was pending litigation and the other a potential land sale. The Board came back into open session and voted unanimously to sell the lot in the business district that was discussed.
