June M. Aude
June M. Aude, 94, entered into the Lord’s eternal care on April 8, 2016. She will join her husband, Lester, in the Kingdom of Heaven.
June and her twin, Julia, were born on January 17, 1922 to John and Ella (Conrad) Lane. They were born on the home farm in the town of Seymour and were so tiny, they were placed in the warming oven of the old cook stove. June married Lester Aude on January 19, 1943. They spent four years in Texas while he served in the Air Force. June was baptized, confirmed, and married at Zion Lutheran Church. After their marriage, they became life-long members of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fall Creek. As an active member, she participated in Ladies Fellowship, Altar Guild, Bible Study, and LWML. June lived her faith and the Lord shined through to all her knew her. She worked in the Fall Creek schools as a kindergarten aide for 19 years. She assisted her husband at Keller Furniture and Keller-Aude Funeral Home. She enjoyed embroidering dish towels, traveling, playing cards, and cheering for Fall Creek sports.
June is survived by her daughter, Linda (Gary) Christ; son, Merlyn Aude; honorary son, Ron (Cheryl) Smith; granddaughter, Lisa (Jerry) Dietsche; great-grandchildren, AJ (Lyndsay) King, Hannah June King, and Jessica (Tony) Brown; great-great-grandchildren, Kylee and Lexy Brown; twin sister, Julia Steinke; and sister-in-law, Selma Lane.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester, in 1978; three brothers, Gordon, Henry, and Reinholdt Lane; and four sisters, Leona Moldenhauer, Margaret Drehmel, Viola Wiese, and Caroline Krumenauer.
June’s life was God’s gift and her memory a blessing to those who knew and loved her.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 16, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fall Creek with Reverend Carlton Kangas officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday, April 15 at Stokes, Prock & Mundt Funeral Chapel, Altoona and at the church for one hour prior to the service.
