Clinton Edwin Olson

Clinton Edwin Olson, age 94, of Ellsworth, WI, passed away October 29, 2020 at the Preferred Senior Living in Ellsworth.
Clinton was born September 27, 1926 in Maiden Rock, WI to Edwin and Mabel (Peterson) Olson. He was baptized and confirmed at Salem Lutheran Church. Clinton attended school at the Foley and Salem Four Rural Schools, and graduated from Maiden Rock High School in 1944. He was united in marriage to Dorothea Orne on April 5, 1952 at the Stockholm Moravian Church. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Dennis and Peggy. Clinton and Dorothea joined the Stockholm Moravian Church in 1952, where Clinton was a very active member until 2002. They then joined the English Lutheran Church in Ellsworth.
Clinton loved farming and farmed in Maiden Rock until 1997. He gradually built up his “Olson Dawn” herd and had all registered Holstein cattle. He received various awards in farming. Later he hobby farmed in Ellsworth with his son, Dennis.
Clinton enjoyed being with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, family gatherings, cross country skiing, games, working at the church fairground stand, ice cream and chocolate! He was devoted in his faith and loved to read his Bible. He was fortunate to travel to 16 different countries, and later enjoyed bus tours. He proudly donated blood until 2015.
Clinton was admitted to Preferred Senior Living in July of 2018 with dementia. The Olson family acknowledges a special thanks to the Preferred Senior Living Center and St. Croix Hospice for their exceptional care of Clinton.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Dorothea Olson; son, Dennis (Debra) Olson; daughter, Peggy (Bruce) Schumaker; grandchildren, Kyle (Amy) Olson, Kristin (Matthew) Hoppe, Marissa and Riley Schumaker; great-grandchildren, Landon and Blake Olson; and sisters, May (Stan) Ramberg and Margaret (Glenn) Dankers. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Mabel Olson; sister, Dorothy (Glen) Johnson; brothers, Howard (Jean) Olson, Floyd (Gladys) Olson, Leonard (Wanda) Olson, Harold (Sylvia) Olson, Maynard (Carol) Olson and James Olson.
A private family service will be held at English Lutheran Church in Ellsworth, with burial at the Stockholm Moravian Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the Stockholm Moravian Cemetery or English Lutheran Church.
