Donald Lavern Anderson
Donald Lavern Anderson, (Swede / Andy), 75, of Durand, WI died Sunday, September 8, 2019 at Advent Health in Durand, WI. He was born November 15, 1943 in Plum City, WI; son of Arnold and Ruth (Nelson) Anderson.
As a child, Don attended country schools until the family moved to town and he graduated from Durand High School. Following graduation, he joined the United States Air Force. He then returned to Durand where he worked a short time at T-Birds. In the fall of 1967 he moved to Osseo, where he worked for Barber Plumbing and Electric. While working there he furthered his education with classes at Chippewa Valley Technical College and ultimately attained the status of a Master Plumber. In November of 1981 he moved back to Durand and worked for Pelke Plumbing until starting his own business, D & S Plumbing. He married Sandy Mueller on August 28, 1982.
His passions were plumbing and golfing. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing cards with his good friends. He especially loved to spend time with his family, particularly his grandsons.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy Anderson of Durand, WI; daughter, Melissa Anderson-Seeber (Paul Seeber) of Hudson, IA; son, Tony (Niccole) Morris of Durand, WI; two grandsons, Andrew and Evan Morris; sister-in-law, Lorraine Anderson; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Ruth (Nelson) Anderson; son, Arni Anderson; infant brother, Kenneth; brothers, Bernard (Jessie Mae) and Vernon Anderson; nephew, Kenny Anderson and mother-in-law, Bernice Mueller.
Visitation was on Thursday, September 12, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Durand. Memorial services immediately followed at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Daniel Pfaffe officiating. Military honors followed by Durand American Legion Post #181. A continued celebration of Don’s Life was at the Rolling Green Golf Course in Durand from 2:00 – 5:00 pm Thursday. Goodrich Funeral Home in Durand, WI is assisting the family.
