Irene R. Bergmark

Irene Ruth Bergmark (94) of Pepin, WI died Saturday, April 18, 2015 at the Pepin Health & Rehab in Pepin, WI. She was born April 22, 1920 in Werner, ND; daughter of Anton and Ellen (Johnson) Edlund. The family moved to Hinkley, MN where Irene attended school. She worked in Minneapolis and for Hallstrom’s Greenhouse in Red Wing, MN.
On February 21, 1942 she married Wilford Bergmark in Red Wing, MN. They farmed in Pepin Township, Pepin County. In the early 1960’s they moved to the Village of Pepin. Wilford died in January of 1990.
Irene was a member of the United Methodist Church in Pepin. She loved to flower garden and enjoyed reading.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Angela Alonso of Seattle, WA, Alfred Greenlee of Woodinville, WA; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wilford Bergmark; son, Alan Bergmark; daughter, Karen Wheeler, grandson, Danny Greenlee; brother, Bernard Edlund; sisters, Florence Ramcke and Dorothy Anderson.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 24, 2015 at the United Methodist Church in Pepin, WI with Pastor Lisa Weaver officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Pepin, WI.
