James David McRoberts

James David McRoberts, Jr. (Mac) 65 of Arkansaw passed away at the Plum City Care Center March 21st, resulting from a stroke.
Born January 1st 1951 in Hunting Beach, CA to James and Ernestine Willfong McRoberts, while his father was a POW in North Korea.
Mac was raised in the Methodist church, graduated from Durand High School, Class of ‘69, lettering in football on the Middle Border Conference Championship team.
In his younger years he worked on the family farm then on a Northern Pacific Railroad gang in Colorado and Wyoming. Though best known for his work as a diesel and heavy equipment mechanic he worked on equipment for Diess and Nugent, Bloomer Diesel, TJ’s Truckstop, Fisher Well Drilling, Keeler Construction and most recently RM Schlosser Construction.
Mac claimed to be a contortionist as he often had to stand on his head to tighten a bolt on a scraper or dumptruck. Speaking as a proud employee, he would hire himself in a heartbeat.
Mac is survived by his brother, Bob, his wife Sherrie and their sons Justin and Benji, of River Falls, 3 sisters Betty Mac of Arkansaw, Marie, her husband Dennis of Eau Galle and son Brian, and Kathy and husband Al of Albuquerque and daughter, Jill.
We are planning to say “Good Bye Mac” at a graveside service, Sunday April 3rd at 1:00 pm at the Clearview Cemetery, CTY Rd D, Eau Galle led by family friend, Dan Richardson. Following the service a meal will be provided by Mac’s friends at the Arkansaw Community Center, downtown Arkansaw.
Mac was a great friend and brother, a man who lived a simple life and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
