Jessie Mae Anderson

Jessie Mae Anderson (86) of Plum City, WI passed away peacefully into the arms of her Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at the Chippewa Valley Hospital in Durand. She was born May 5, 1929 in Arkansaw, WI; daughter of Roy & Vadne (Murry) Manore. She attended Maple Ridge School and graduated from Arkansaw High School in 1947.
On July 7, 1948 she married Bernard Anderson at the Methodist Parsonage in Durand. They farmed in Sunnybrook for over 45 years. They also owned and operated the Durand Transfer from 1969 to 1983. Jessie Mae and Bernard retired and moved to Plum City in 1999.
Since retiring from farming she spent numerous hours volunteering at the Plum City Care Center. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. In the last few years she enjoyed dancing and trying to convince others that they should dance. She was an active member of the Arkansaw United Methodist Church. Jessie Mae was a very giving person with a big heart. She loved people and loved to get to know and help people. She was never in a hurry; she always had time to visit.
She is survived by her children, Picksey (Bob) Watkins of Plum City, WI, Dixie (Jim) Biller of Mounds View, MN, Ken (Brenda) Anderson of Arkansaw, WI, Patty (John) Wayne of Durand, WI, Jeff (Hao) Anderson of LaCrosse, WI; grandchildren, Scott Watkins, Wendy (Steven) Anderson, Cory (Kelly) Biller, Lance (Michelle) Watkins, Zachary (Mandy) Watkins, Mitchel (Fran) Wayne, Kristin (Rick) Wayne, Lindsey (Christopher) Beasley, MacKenzie Anderson; great-grandchildren, Caleub Watkins, Jacob Biller, Michael Biller, Chase Watkins, Jodi Vetterkind, Audrey Anderson, Snow Wayne, Kamden & Finley Watkins; sisters, Alice Myers, Anita Lewko; sisters-in-law, Wilma Manore, Mavis Manor, her special friend, Dennis Westberg and his family of Pepin, WI and many nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Anderson; brothers, Bernard, Clare, Allen Lee and sister, Bernice Brusda.
Funeral Services were held at 11:00 am Saturday, December 12, 2015 at the United Methodist Church in Arkansaw with Pastor Lisa Weaver officiating. Burial was in Arkansaw Memorial Cemetery.
