John Allen Jahnke

John Allen Jahnke (65) of Whitehall, WI formerly of Pepin died Monday , May 25, 2015 at Gunderson Tri-County Hospital in Whitehall. He was born May 25, 1950 in Wabasha, MN; son of Walter & Florice (Markey) Jahnke. He graduated from Pepin High School in 1968. Following graduation he attended Chippewa Valley Technical College in Eau Claire, where he received a degree in diesel mechanics.
In March of 1970 he married Judy Coburn at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Pepin. They later divorced.
Over the years John worked various jobs, as a mechanic at Anderson Implement in Ella, WI, Federal Mogul in Lake City, MN, along with farming and more recently had many rental properties around the area. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, working on his Allis Chalmer Tractors and visiting with people.
He is survived by his daughters, Joanne (Marty) Wegner of Durand, WI, Jennifer Jahnke of Durand, WI, Jill (Josh) Rose of Eau Claire, WI; son, Jamey (Kayla) Jahnke of Pepin, WI; three grandsons, Isaac Wegner, Gavin & Cooper Jahnke; seven siblings, Steve (Penny) Jahnke of Pepin, WI, Eileen (John) Schwartz of Inver Grove Heights, MN, Jim (Audrey) Jahnke of Rochester, MN, Karen (Jim) Elberg of Pepin, WI, Caryll Hammel of Rochester, MN, Doreen Zitzman of Hastings, MN, Daniel (Josie) Jahnke of Pueblo, CO; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services will be held 11:30 am, Monday, June 1st 2015 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Pepin, WI with Pastor Karna Marks officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Pepin.
