Joseph (Joe) J. Caturia
It is with deep sadness that we announce the loss of Joseph (Joe) J. Caturia. Joe was born on September 15, 1968 to Frederick & Arvilla Caturia and passed away on May 17, 2026.
Joe grew up on the family farm in Arkansaw, WI. He went to school at St. Mary’s in Durand and graduated from the Arkansaw High School in 1987. After many years of milking cows, tending to crops and fixing fence, he went to work for Bauer Built Tire where he remained for several years. He then worked at Wal Mart Distribution Center for a short time before retiring early.
Joe married Jill (Poeschel) Pfund. To that union, they were blessed with two amazing children who would become the light of his life. The two later divorced.
He later met and married the love of his life, Tammy Grueneberg. The two built a simple life that they both loved and deeply cherished, along with a bit of bickering to make sure the other one was staying in line! Joe was a simple man; he didn’t need much to be happy. He was often found enjoying a cold Old Mil’ at one of the local taverns enjoying conversation with the locals, going for a drive to take in the beautiful countryside and listening to his favorite music, or enjoying the company of his kids and grandkids-nothing made him smile more than those tiny humans! Joe was loved by many and he was easily loved because of his tender heart, compassion for others and willingness to lend a hand to someone in need. He could fill a room with laughter without even trying hard. He always had a one liner, good joke or a comeback! He had the best laugh!
He enjoyed going for rides in the side by side, weekly FaceTime chats with the grandkids, family get togethers with his mom or sister’s good cooking, and the many years of hunting at the cabin. You didn’t have to twist his arm to have a quick cold one or threaten him with a good time! The ones he loved have many memories that come with so much laughter telling stories of Joe over the years. The pranks he pulled on them or fun times they had together, the stories go on for hours. He was happiest in the simple moments in life.
Joe loved his family and held them close to his heart. Even though our hearts ache with the sudden loss of Joe, his love, selfless nature and compassion for others will continue for years to come by helping so many people through his gift of organ donation.
Joe will be forever loved and missed by his wife, Tammy, daughter Jocelyn (Shane), son Trever (Amanda), grandchildren, Ayden, Coen, Rhett, Maverick, Wesley and Tate (Tator Tot), his siblings, especially his sister, Gina (Glenn) Hayden, who he was very close with, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins as well as his God Mother, Linda (Terry) Schuh who was very special to him.
He is finally getting to meet his brother Pat, as well as reuniting with his parents, grandparents, and many others he loved and missed, who were all waiting for him in Heaven with open arms.
Joe’s memory will live on in many of us. The stories of Joe, the fun we had with him and the love he shared with many will never be forgotten. Raise a toast to Joe and enjoy an ice-cold Old Milwaukee red in his honor!
