Joyce Markey died unexpectedly at home on June 23, 2017, she ws 56.
“Grief is the last act of great love we have to give to those we loved. Where there is deep grief, there was great love.” Joyce had a gift to never take anything too seriously. Her heart was open and she was at her best when she was able to nurture - from family members to any stray cat that needed a home. Despite hardships and troubles, her family will choose to celebrate the memories when she was happiest, singing along to her favorite songs or playing Yahtzee with her husband.
She was joined in heaven just 6 days later by the hardest working and most dedicated husband, John. She is survived by two daughters, two brothers, and her father and stepmother. They will strive to help her best qualitities live on. The family takes comfort knowing that though her body was weak in life, she will become strong and walk again in heaven at the side of God, and with her husband.
Hardship often prepares an ordinary person for an extraordinary destiny.

A celebration of life for John and Joyce Markey will be Wednesday July 26 at Arkansaw Community Center from 4-7 pm in Arkansaw.
