Keith Leonard Reichenbach

Keith Leonard Reichenbach, age 86, of Eau Claire, died on December 23, 2017, at Chippewa Valley Hospital, Durand.
Keith was born on March 19, 1931, in Black River Falls, to Raymond and Bessie (Bibby) Reichenbach. He grew up on a farm where he enjoyed picking morel mushrooms and wild berries. Keith graduated from Black River Falls High School. In 1951 he entered the US Navy as a Sea Bee serving during the Korean War. After which Keith enjoyed 31 years as a Wisconsin Conservation Warden. His career path took him from Trempealeau to Chilton to Jefferson and finally to Oshkosh, WI. Spending his retirement between Eau Claire and Apache Junction, AZ. Keith took great pride in “babysitting the sturgeon” and was awarded the prestigious Shikar Safari Award in 1983. Other recipients included conservationists such as Jacques Cousteau and Marlin Perkins. In 1955, he married his wife, Margaret (Kubina), and they recently celebrated their 62nd year anniversary. Keith’s sense of adventure began as a kid catching and selling fish to neighbors to looking for arrowheads. Through the years, Keith has enjoyed many activities, including hunting, fishing, travel, and desert excursions in Arizona. Dear to him were the important annual Jellystone camping trips with grandkids. Keith enjoyed his 31 years of retirement.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret (Kubina); daughter, Cindy (Mike) Retzloff, of Durand; son, Mark (Sharon) Reichenbach, of Mendota Heights, MN; four grandchildren, each of whom was his “favorite”, Andrew (Jessica) Reichenbach, Lisa (Micheal) Persons, Julie Retzloff, and Jordyn Reichenbach; 1 great-granddaughter, Analeigh; step great-grandson, Ian; sister, Alice (Robert) Comstock of Merrillan, WI; and in-laws, family and friends.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Lynn (Gerry) Reichenbach and sister, Marie (John) Prochaska.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at Grace Lutheran Church, 202 West Grand Ave, Eau Claire, with Pastor Dean W. Simpson. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 1st Ave, Eau Claire, and again one hour prior to the service at the church. Military honors conducted by American Legion Post 53. A private family interment will take place at a later date in the Northern Wisconsin Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Spooner.
