Laurence J. Pittman

Laurence J. Pittman age 96 of Eau Galle, died Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at Chippewa Valley Hospital in Durand with his family by his side.
Laurence was born on October 20, 1920 on the Pittman home farm in Eau Galle. He was the son of Joseph and Mary (Pfeiffer) Pittman. Laurence grew up in Eau Galle attended elementary school in Eau Galle and graduated from Durand High School. After high school, Laurence farmed with his brother Ralph. Together they farmed on three combined farms in the Eau Galle Township. He continued to farm until he retired at 65 years old. After Laurence retired, he still helped his brother with the farm.
Laurence liked travel, he took trips with his brother or sister to various locations including Hawaii and Europe. He also enjoyed playing cards, especially at the Durand Senior Center. Most of all, Laurence loved spending time with family and friends.
Laurence is survived by his brother; Ralph of Eau Galle, two sisters; Catherine Anderson of Waukesha and Beatrice (Eugene) Falkner of Menomonie, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother; Clarence and one sister in infancy; Leona Pittman.
Funeral Mass was held at 11:00 AM Monday, February 6, 2017 at St. Henry Catholic Church in Eau Galle with Rev. James Kurzynski officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Visitation was from 10:00 AM until the time of services at the church on Monday.
