Marjorie J. Greeley

Marjorie J. Greeley, age 93, of Sartell, formerly of Kimball, died January 9, 2016 at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Memorial Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Church of Christ in Kimball. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place in the spring at Maine Prairie Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Kimball Dollars for Scholars.
Marjorie Jean Greeley was born March 20, 1922 in Durand, WI to Robert and Lucia (Fear) Goodrich. She graduated with the Class of 1940 from Durand High School and continued her education at Stout Institute in Menomonie, WI, graduating with the Class of 1944. On September 1, 1945, Marj was united in marriage to Alton Greeley in Alexandria, MN; their 47-year union was blessed with three children. They worked side-by-side on their farm in Maine Prairie Township. Mrs. Greeley also worked at Kimball Schools as a Home Economics teacher. She was an active member of Kimball United Methodist Church where she led youth groups, taught religious release classes and Vacation Bible School, was a circle member and served as the church organist for 35 years. Marj was also the organist and pianist for the Eastern Star and Royal Neighbors. She enjoyed league bowling, knitting for the entire family, sewing, gardening, and playing cards, board games and puzzles. She was an excellent cook and baker. Marjorie truly loved the time she spent with her family.
She is survived by her three children and their spouses Mary & Greg Bartz of Sleepy Eye, Jo & Dennis Loewen of Kimball and Bob & Geri Greeley of Shakopee; five grandchildren Eric (Amanda) Loewen, Erin (Austin) Gutwasser, Cole (Kate) Loewen, Mike (Lauren) Greeley and Andy Greeley; and seven great grandchildren Olivia and Beau Loewen, Isaac, Ezra and Elsie Gutwasser, Lucas Greeley and Walter Loewen. She is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Lucia Goodrich; husband Alton “Stretch” Greeley; brother Bob Goodrich; grandson Jeffrey Greeley; father-in-law and mother-in-law Bill and Hilma Greeley; and sisters-in-law Denise Goodrich, Ruby Simmons and Myrtle Nowak.
The urn bearers will be Marjorie’s grandchildren. Jamie Miller and the Richard Eckman family will provide the music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Kimball.
