Marjorie M. Lundberg

Marjorie Mae Lundberg (88) of Pepin, WI died March 3, 2015 at Pepin Health & Rehab. She was born February 13, 1927 in Jamaica New York (part of New York City); the oldest of four daughters to Michael & Lilian (Gilbert) O’Conner. She grew up in East Rockaway, NY and attended grammar school at St. Raymond Catholic School and also St. Raymond Catholic Church. Marjorie graduated from East Rockaway High School on June 24, 1947. After graduation she worked as a secretary for the Wall Street Journal.
Her family would visit their Uncle Oscar Gilbert’s farm near Lund, WI during the summers. During these visits she met a local young man that would eventually become her husband of 62 years. Marjorie married Curtis Lundberg on October 4, 1952 at Lund Mission Covenant Church in Lund, WI.
Together Marjorie and Curtis worked their farm in Lund until 1964 when they moved to a farm near Spring Valley. After many years of farming they retired and moved to Pepin in 2010, where they began to attend Immanuel Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her husband, Curtis Lundberg of Pepin, WI; sisters, Marilyn (Henry) Storminger of FL and Carol Fisher of Stanford, CT; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Anita Sternberg.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 6, 2015 at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pepin, WI with Pastor Karna Marks officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. Spring burial will be at the Marie Lund Cemetery. Goodrich Funeral Home in Durand is assisting the family.
