Ronnie Eugene Haugen

Ronnie Eugene Haugen, age 67, of Ellsworth, WI, passed away Tuesday January 26, 2016 at the River Falls Area Hospital, River Falls, WI with his loving wife by his side. Ronnie was born April 21, 1948 to George and Elmira (Halverson) Haugen in Wabasha, MN. He attended schools in Pepin, WI and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Ronnie married Margaret Schmidt at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ on November 7, 1970. For the last thirty-five years, they have made their home in Ellsworth. Ronnie was a hard worker, most recently employed at Holst Excavating as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator. He retired in 2008 due to a disability.
In his spare time, Ronnie loved tinkering in his garage, wood working, spending time with family and friends, and enjoying a beer while listening to country music. He was also a member of VFW Post 9060 of Pierce County.
Ronnie is survived by his wife, Margaret; four siblings, George of Red Wing, MN, Richard (Renae Stewart) of Lac du Flambeau, WI, Rick of Clear Lake WI, and Phyllis Stuiber (Jay) of Milwaukee, WI; sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ruby, Gloria, Elaine, Marcella, Joyce, Peggy; a brother, Allen; and parents-in-law, Louis and Vera Schmidt.
A Memorial Service for Ronnie will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 6, 2016, at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Ellsworth, WI. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to the time of service at the church.
