Thrivent Financial donates $500 to Music for the Military
Travis Breunig from Thrivent Financial presented a $500 check to Betty Lou Imler to buy three guitars for Music for the Military.
Betty Lou started the foundation January 2011 and has received cash donations as well as guitars, ukuleles, and banjos to be sent to the USO Mitchell International Airport in Milwaukee. The soldiers who are either being deployed or returning from duty may then pick out the guitar of their choice at no charge to them, because of the generosity of those from our community.
Jean Accola along with treasurer Shelia Castleberg and the committee from Imagination Nation allow the tax deductible donations to be made out to them with Music for the Military placed in the memo.
Morgan Music from Eau Claire donates the gig bags that accompany the Fender six string acoustic guitars, which also includes an electric tuner, extra set of strings, side winder, strap and picks with an instructional guitar app.
In appreciation Betty Lou stated, “I feel as though we are putting the healing power of music into the hands of our heroes’.”
