Vern D. Seifert

Vern D. Seifert, age 86 of Pepin died Tuesday June 2, 2026 at Beehive homes in Eau Claire, WI.
Vern was born on May 31, 1940. He was the son of Glen and Ivy (Anderson) Seifert. Vern lived most of his life in Pepin and graduated from Pepin High School in 1958. He married Shirley Sundberg in September of 1958, and they enjoyed a marriage of over 65 years until Shirley passed away in 2024. Vern and Shirley raised their 3 children in Pepin and welcomed many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Vern worked in Construction for most of his life building homes in and around the Pepin area. He first worked for his dad and later took over the construction business when Glen retired. Vern also owned and operated the Lumber Yard and Hardware store in Pepin for many years.
Vern was actively involved in maintaining and improving the village of Pepin. He served as Village President for many years and was active on many committees for the village over the years. He loved his hometown of Pepin and talked about it often and to anyone who would listen.
Vern is survived by his brother Daniel (Carmian) Seifert of Oakdale, MN, his son Michael (Elaine) Seifert of Plainview, MN, his daughter Paige (Tim) Stajkowski of Fall Creek, WI, daughter in-law Jodie Seifert of Pepin, many beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
Vern was preceded in death by his parents, parents’ in-law, son Lynn Seifert, Sister’s in-law Sharon Menting and Mary Krogstad and Brother in-law David Sundberg.
A Celebration of Life for Vern will be held on June 27th at the Pepin Sportsman’s Club from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
