Whitesidewalls to end 2015 Music in the Park series
The 2015 Music in the Park series, hosted by DIG, will come to an end on Wednesday, August 26.
The third and final event of the summer will also feature the Great Taste of Durand. Get prepared to enjoy the stupendous music of The Whitesidewalls Rock ‘n’ Roll Revue, and eat delicious food and goodies from local area eateries, such as: Econo Foods, Durand Smokehouse, Batter & Bowls, The Bakeshop & More, Corral Bar/Riverside Grill, and Alex’s Pizza.
The event will again be held at the Memorial Park band shell on August 26 from 6-9 p.m.
Since their genesis over 40 years ago, the Whitesidewalls Rock ‘n’ Roll Revue has been the Midwest’s ultimate 1950s and 1960s doo-wop and rock & roll show band, with a loyal fan base that continues to grow and show their support and love for the Whitesidewalls.
Featuring five singers playing multiple instruments, the tight harmonies and driving dance beat of the Whitesidewalls are the signature of the Rock ‘n Roll Revue.
Hound Dog, Swanee, Gino Gambucci, Bobby Maestro, and Rocky Beaumont have handcrafted a fabulous show that will have you jumping just like it did all those years ago!
The 50/50 raffle for bandshell basement renovations will again be held, with tickets on sale for $1 each, six for $5, or 15 for $10. Durand Royalty and DIG members will be circulating throughout the park with the winning raffle ticket for the BIG BUCKS. YOU MUST BE PRESENT to WIN!
DIG’S plan is to turn the current cellar-style basement into a safe and secure changing room for City of Durand event participants, entertainers, and school programs.
Bring your lawn chairs and dancing shoes, but per City ordinance, leave your dog at home! No dogs are allowed in the park.
