The St. Paul Sons of Norway Synnove Nordkap lodge has researched and developed a 20-panel exhibit highlighting the history of Norwegian immigration to Minnesota. Winona’s chapter of the Sons of Norway has sponsored the exhibit’s journey to Winona and the Winona County History Center will host this interesting look into the lives and traditions of 19th and early 20th century Norwegian immigrants. Artifacts from the Winona County Historical Society’s collection will be featured along with items on loan from local Norwegian families to highlight local stories of Winona County’s Norwegian immigrants.
A special exhibit opening reception will be held this Saturday from 1 – 3 p.m. with free admission. You will also be able to try traditional Norwegian crafts and cooking during the exhibit’s stay through a series of “Hands-on History” programs within the exhibition…
