Personnel matters dominate agenda for December's Jackson County Board meeting

BLACK RIVER FALLS - The Jackson County Board dealt with several personnel matters on its agenda for its December meeting held back on the 18th at the county government center.

The Board gave its unanimous approval to creating a payroll specialist plus hiring an accountant for the county clerk's office, replacing the position of County Bookeeper. The Board also approved resolutions to hire a veteran's benefits specialist, reinstate the Aging and Disability Services Program Coordinator, and removed a county ordinance to change policy on compensation time payouts by allowing for them to be funded within each department budget with the stipulation that departments can request contingency funds to be used if unable to absorb in budget. They also approved a five percent raise for county employees

In other agenda items, the Board unanimously approved all private vendor contract's with the county's Health and Human Services Dept. and a request to the Ho-Chunk Nation for $45,000 for recycling services in lieu of recycling grants and falling recycling market prices not being able to meet recycling program costs. The Board also approved the county's forest plan as well.
