William Dale Biers

William Dale Biers, 95, of Plainview, Minnesota, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 10, 2026, at Mayo Clinic Hospital – St. Mary's Campus in Rochester.
William was born on December 24, 1930, in Olmsted County, Minnesota, to Allen Dale and Mabel (Peterson) Biers. He grew up on the family farm and attended Little Valley Country School.
On December 30, 1950, William married Marian Oldenburg, at the Church of Christ in Plainview, Minnesota. Together they made their home on the family farm, where they raised their family while farming for many years. William sold the family farm in 1985. He purchased a small farm in Hope, Minnesota. Then settled in Blooming Prairie in 1994 buying a apartment building and becoming landlords.
William found joy in playing cards, history and story telling, traveling, bowling, dancing, and cheering on the Minnesota Twins and Vikings. Above all, he treasured the time he spent with his family and friends and the memories they created together over the years.
William is survived by his children, Carol Hameister of Rochester, Minnesota, Barbara (Jim) Baier of Reads Landing, Minnesota, Thomas Biers of Owatonna, Minnesota, and Dawn Biers of Wabasha, Minnesota; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; Brother-in-law Robert (Janet) Clark of Rosemount, Minnesota, many nieces & nephews and his beloved partner's children, Christie (Dennis) Fox and Kimberly (Ron) Hansen.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marian; his beloved partner, Barbara Molland; his parents; a son-in-law (David); daughter-in- law (Judy); along with his brothers Richard, Charles (Patricia) Biers, Otis, and James (Donna) Biers.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at Sargeant United Methodist Church, 201 Main St. NE, Sargeant, Minnesota. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at Schad & Zabel Funeral Home, 57 3rd Street Southwest
Plainview, Minnesota, and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Burial will take place at Little Valley Cemetery, in Dover, Minnesota.
