Albert “Al” Carl Schroeder

Albert “Al” Carl Schroeder, 91, of Rochester and formerly of Elgin, passed away on Monday, September 2, 2024, at the Charter House in Rochester. He was born April 13, 1933, in Elgin to Carl and Elizabeth (Lehman) Schroeder. He attended school in Elgin and graduated from Dover High School. On August 31, 1957, he married Audrey Kuhl in Elgin, she died October 30, 1992.
Al lived most of his lifetime in the Elgin area where he and Audrey farmed, and they raised their five children.
After his marriage to Mary Kruger Senst on December 27, 1996, they lived in Plainview for 20+ years and wintered in Laughlin, NV for 20+ years. Mary died on November 21, 2020.
Al is survived by his children, Clark (Annemarie) Schroeder of Conroe, TX, Gregory (Starlyn) Schroeder of Phoenix, AZ, Christine (Richard) Niemeyer of Cave Creek, AZ, and Mary Schroeder of Decorah, IA; twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and one sister, Nadine Gillespie of Denver, CO. He was preceded in death by his parents, two wives, three brothers, Darwin, Marvin, and Fred; three sisters, Adeline Shiek, Betty Farrier, and Gloria Daniels; and one daughter, Vicki.
A funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 7, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Elgin with Pastor Josh Moldenhauer officiating. Burial followed the service at the Elgin Cemetery. A visitation with friends and family was held one hour prior to the service at the church.
