Blanche A. Sullivan
Blanche A. Sullivan, age 91, of Wabasha, died Monday evening, May 9, 2016 at Mayo Clinic Hospital-St. Mary’s Campus in Rochester surrounded by her loving family after suffering a stroke the previous Wednesday. She was born November 20, 1924 to Allen and Mabel (Cox) Tentis on the Tentis family farm in Cook’s Valley, rural Kellogg. In 1943 she married Bernard Feehan and together they had one daughter. He died later that year. In 1946 she was united in marriage to Emmett Sullivan and together they had two daughters. He died in 1963.
Blanche was a member of St. Felix Catholic Church and its Council of Catholic Women. She was also a member of the Burkhardt-Roemer VFW Post #4086 Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing bingo and cards, especially with her grandchildren. She also loved to visit with her family and friends and she enjoyed the many family gatherings. Throughout her life her greatest pleasure was derived from spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by daughters, Bonnie (Glenn) Zell, Plainview, MN, Shirley (Dick) Pfieffer, Yukon, OK, and Patty Reinhardt, Wabasha, MN; 12 grandchildren, Glenn, Scott, Kelly, Heidi, Cindy, Amy, Rick, Ann, Roger, Jeff, Jackie and Rod; 29 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Joy Spooner; and nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Bernard Feehan and Emmett Sullivan, son-in-law, John Reinhardt and siblings, Virgil Tentis, Leona Spooner and Donald Tentis.
A funeral Mass was offered on Friday, May 13, 2016 at 10:30am at St. Felix Catholic Church in Wabasha with the Reverend Monsignor Robert Meyer officiating. Interment was in St. Felix Cemetery. Casket bearers were Jeff and Rod Reinhardt, Rick and Roger Pfieffer, Glenn Zell and Corey Dregney. Family and friends called at the Abbott Funeral Home on Thursday from 4-7pm and at the church on Friday one hour before the service.
