Ellen DeMae Stoltz
Ellen DeMae (Kleiber) Stoltz, 89 of Plainview, Mn passed away peacefully Saturday morning, August 8, 2026, at Green Prairie Care Center following a brief illness.
She was born February 28, 1937, to Myrtle (Larson) and Eduard Kleiber in rural Winona Cty.
Ellen attended school in Cannon Falls, Plainview, then went back to Cannon Falls where she graduated in 1955.
On October 7, 1955, she married Warren J. Stoltz at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plainview, MN. She is survived by her 6 children; Joel W (Nancy) of Plainview, Rodney J. of Akron, OH, Susan D (Stacy) Fox of Millville, Brent A (Susie) of Elgin, Jed H (Carol) of Mazeppa and Betsy J (Troy) Munsch of Elgin. Her 6 children blessed her with 17 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Ellen was primarily a homemaker but did have a few part-time jobs working at a canvas repair shop and custodial work at Immanuel Lutheran School until starting her seamstress business ‘Ellen’s Sew Unique’. She sewed many bridesmaid dresses for multiple weddings, altered many prom dresses and of course replaced many zippers in coats and jeans for people in the community. Other hobbies she enjoyed doing were square dancing, camping, an occasional night dancing to Whoopee John at the Plamor, knitting and crocheting.
Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, husband and her sister Linnea.
Friends and family may visit from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, Wednesday, August 12 at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview MN. Funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 13 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plainview, MN co officiated by Pastor Dean Zemple and Rev Larry Sipe Jr. with a visitation starting at 10:00 am. Buriel will follow the service at Greenwood Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff of Olmsted Medical Hospital, Samaritan Bethany Rehab Center, St Marys Hospital, Green Prairie Care Center and Mayo Hospice for the care they provided to Ellen.
Memorials are suggested to the Immanuel Lutheran School lunch program.
