Forestry Day draws record crowd in Kellogg

Ryan Flynn, left, accepts the 2024 Woodland Manager of the Year award from Mark Miller, a forester with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources’ office in Lake City, on behalf of his parents, Joe and Kathryn Flynn. The Flynns own about 400 acres of land north of Elgin. A total of 116 acres includes the farm on which Joe was raised, plus 75 acres of tillable land, 15 acres of pasture, and 23 acres of woods - mostly bur oak.
