Jeremiah Joseph Evers was born November 10, 1983 in Wabasha County, MN to Susan (Evers) Hager. Jeremiah loved his dairy cows and showed steers in 4-H when he was younger. He milked his own cows on the home farm for a while before farming around the Plainview area. He graduated from Plainview High School in 2002.
He absolutely loved his Grandma and Grandpa, Robert and Marion Evers. Not a day went by that he didn’t have a story to tell about them. When Jeremiah started dating Angella Lund in 2013, they would talk on the phone almost every night and text each other all day. Grandma Marion would say to him, “Don’t you ever run out of things to say to her” and would often tell her friends that he was going to marry that girl. And Grandma Marion was right! Jeremiah married Angella on August 7, 2015 and together they had a beautiful little girl, MaKinzleigh Louise, who was born March 9, 2016.
Jeremiah found great joy in helping others. Toward the end, even though he wasn’t feeling well, if hay needed to be hauled or cows needed to be moved, he was always there to help. He could make friends with anyone and talk or laugh with them for hours. (Even if he knew his wife was waiting in the truck.) He drove the Amish around for 3 years in the Spring Valley area and absolutely loved it. He even drove them on Tuesday and Wednesday, in the final days before his passing.
Jeremiah was all about anything that had to do with farming or the countryside of life. It didn’t matter if he was cleaning barns, spreading manure, chopping and baling hay, deer hunting or just enjoying a back country drive. He owned his own hay wrapping business for a few years called “Evers Custom Bale Wrapping.” Most recently, Jeremiah chopped hay for Al and Lisa Peters out of Lake City, MN and would take MaKinzleigh with him in the tractor. He used to let her “drive” and she would tease him that she was going to steal his job.
He was very proud of his John Deere tractors, especially the John Deere 620 he owned, along with his Chevy diesel trucks. It had to be a diesel or in his words, “What’s the point in driving it?”
When he wasn’t on the road hauling cattle or driving the Amish, he loved to draw pictures with his daughter. He would draw her one and then she would draw him one. Jeremiah was actually quite talented at drawing, and MaKinzleigh is following right behind in his footsteps.
Jeremiah is survived by his wife Angella Evers, daughter MaKinzleigh Evers, mother Suzie (Duane) Hager, siblings April Hager, Wesley Hager and Amber Zalky, one niece and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Robert and Marion Evers.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund to help his family with final expenses has been opened at Home Federal Savings Bank. Donations may be sent to any location. Checks should be made out as follows: "To the family of Jeremiah Evers" or " In memory of Jeremiah Evers".
