Joan Gay (Clark) Cochran

Joan Gay (Clark) Cochran of Plainview, MN age 81 passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family and husband Glen Cochran on Sunday October 25, 2015.
Joan was born in Des Moines, IA on February 10, 1934 to Carroll and Fae Clark, and spent her childhood years growing up in the Woodward, IA area. On May 17, 1951 she married Vernon LaFee, and from that union had three children, Dan LaFee, Michelle Axley, and John LaFee.
Joan’s caring and giving heart was demonstrated in her actions when she returned to school later in life and received her degree in nursing. She often spoke of her many years of service as a Registered Nurse and the joy it brought to her caring for others in the hospital setting.
Other great joys in Joan’s life were her times and memories with her family, her sense of community and her strong faith and ongoing activeness in her church.
On September 15, 2007 Joan entered into marriage to Glen Cochran where they continued to reside in Plainview, MN.
Joan is survived by her husband Glen Cochran of Plainview, MN., brother Craig (Karen) Clark from Colfax, IA, and children, Dan LaFee of Minnesota City, MN, Michelle (Dave) Axley of Elgin, MN, and John (Karen) LaFee of Rochester, MN, 10 Grandchildren, and 20 Great Grandchildren.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, sister Jackie Deets, and her second husband Ivan Smith.
Per Joan’s final request and act of giving is in her donation of her body to the ongoing research at Mayo Clinic.
A memorial service will be held November 7, 2015 at 1:30 P.M.at the Plainview Church of Christ. There will be a private family burial at a later date.
