WAYNE DAWLEY

Wayne Thomas Dawley, 73, of Millville, MN, was born on January 30, 1947 to Clifford and Betty (Bentley) Dawley. He was born in rural Bluffton IA, via tele phone during a blizzard. He passed away peacefully at his home near Millville on September 20, 2020. Wayne attended North Winneshiek High School. In 1968 Wayne began his family with Bonnie Brookins. In March of 1997, he continued to grow his family in love with a marriage to Virgetta “Jett” Bearden.

Wayne started his career as a farmer in Bluffton, IA. Then he was employed as a maintenance electrician for Crane and Tyson in SE Iowa where he retired in January 2009. He and his family moved to Millville in 2010. He loved his family, visiting friends at random, and taking random drives, but he never went anywhere too fast. Wayne enjoyed good conversations about horses and mules, working on projects, gadgets, coon hunting, and so much more. If you befriended him, you were likely a friend for life. When parting ways with friends and family he would always say “glad you got to see me.” Wayne was a very kind and soft spoken man.

Wayne is survived by his mother, Betty Dawley, and sisters Caroline (George) Blaess, Hazel Dawley, Susan (Keith) Bigalk; his children, Dawn (Dawley) and Steven Scheuffele of Ames, IA, Scott Dawley of Kalona, IA, Coraline Dawley of Iowa City, IA, Clifton Dawley of Ainsworth, IA, Chad Dawley (fiancée Andrea Wood) of Stanwood, IA, Thomas and Betsy Glennon of Grand Ledge, MI, Bridget and Dan Schafer of St Johns, MI, Jarrod Glennon of Eaton Rapids, MI, Morgan Dawley and Clayton Burkholder of Utica, MN, Austin Dawley, and Alexandra “Lexy” Dawley, both of Millville, MN, as well as 21 grandkids and 19 great-grandkids.
