Bids for renovations projects approved by Strum Village Board

STRUM - The Strum Village Board approved several bids for renovation projects in the village during its February meeting held back on the 13th.

A bid of $35,721 from contractor Greg Libersky for renovations to the Strum Village Hall Community Room, including the replacement of the ceiling, LED lighting, stud walls and sheetrock, a bid from Shop Howards for flooring of the Community Room for $19,500 and a bid in the amount of $3,900 to fix the flooring for the bar area in the Viking Rec. Center from Shop Howard were all adopted unanimously.

The Board unanimously approved alley projects for this year as well and they also unanimously approved the use of the entire storage building below the dam to the snowmobile club.

The Village agreed to discuss with Trempealeau County the installation of a crosswalk across 5th Ave., which is under the jurisdiction of the County, due to concerns from citizens about safety of people crossing the street.

The Board unanimsouly approve Class ''A'' Fermented Malt Beverage & Class “A” Intoxicating Liquor and Cigarette licenses to Consumer’s Cooperative C-Store along with a bartender's license.

The purchase of the laser gun for $3,795.00 to control geese population was also unanimously approved.

Once Strum Village Police Department hiring procedures are updated, the Department will be looking to hire two new part-time officers.
