Jackson County Board approves 2024 county budget

BLACK RIVER FALLS - The Jackson County Board of Supervisors approved the county's 2024 budget at its November meeting held back on Nov. 13.

The net tax levy was set at $11,447,969. The budget amount was set at $37,078,265 and the revenues in the Funds of the County of Jackson will amount to approximately $22,520,401 and a net of $3,109,895 of
fund balance will be applied.

The County Board also approved bridge aid requests and also approved the hiring a Land Use Specialist I/II position in the Zoning Department to deal with S, the workload in the Zoning Department has increased in regards to processing permit applications, completing site visits, responding to complaints, and investigating violations and non-compliance activities. The Board also approved the contract between the county and the UW-Extension.
