Jackson County Board votes to combine Parks Fund with Forestry

BLACK RIVER FALLS - The Jackson County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved combining the balances of the county's Parks and Trails fund into the Forestry fund at its August meeting held back on the 15th.

The new fund will be titled Combined Forestry and the resolution the Board supported stated that any undesignated funds over the amount of $500,000 be transferred to the General fund, Capital Reserve fund, and each year thereafter during year-end reconciliation.

Other resolutions unanimously supported by the Board were several amendments made to Chapter 4 Personnel Policy of Jackson County; an increase to $425 plus mileage for transportation for autopsies; an increase the salary of the Administrative Coordinator to $12,000 per year; approving the 2022-2026 Jackson County Outdoor Recreation Plan and authorizing $384,000 of American Rescue Plan Act funds to offset wage and benefit expenses for the 2023 budget cycle.

The Board also unanimously approved a zoning requests in the Town of Cleveland made by Kevin & Deidra Bush to change the Official Zoning Map from the A-2 (Forestry and Limited Agriculture) District to the R-2 (Residential) District and Scott Bertrang to change the Official Zoning Map from the A-1 (Agriculture) District to the R-2 (Residential) District.
