Andrew ‘Andy’ Johnson, 31, Kellogg
The funeral service for Andrew “Andy” Johnson will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 24, at Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Plainview with Pastor Ty Spenst, Nicolas Wilson, and Ken Casey officiating.
Mr. Johnson, 31, of Kellogg, died Thursday afternoon, June 18, 2015 in an auto accident.
Andrew Johnson was born November 8, 1983 in Rochester to Lloyd and Gwendolyn (Rueb) Johnson. He grew up in the Kellogg area attended Wabasha – Kellogg Schools and graduated in 2002. While in High School Andy was in wrestling and football and nicknamed “Grizzly”. Andy went on to attend RCTC for 2 years and then to South Dakota State and graduated with a Bachelors in Construction Management in 2009, where he was a member of the Farm House Fraternity.
On May 14, 2011 Andy married Beth Barnes in Bookings, SD. They made their home in rural Kellogg where he farmed and worked construction in Southeastern Minnesota.
Andy was a member of Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Plainview where he was a ONEighty Youth Leader, and was Chairman of the AC Counsel. Andy enjoyed going hunting, playing bean bags and cards, watching movies and videos and playing computer games. He loved to dance with his daughter, Emry, spending time tending to his vegetable garden, and loved eating strawberry shortcake.
Andrew is survived by his loving wife, Beth Johnson of Kellogg; one daughter, Emry Joe, and one child due in November; his parents, Lloyd and Gwendolyn Johnson of Kellogg; two sisters, Kristina Johnson and his twin sister, Lisa Johnson both of Rochester; and one brother, Lloyd D. Johnson of Minnesota City. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, and one infant brother, Michael.
Friends and family may visit from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., starting with a Prayer service at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 23, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel in Plainview, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
