Ann Therese Trainer, 76, formerly of Wabasha

Ann Therese Trainer, 76, formerly of Wabasha, MN, and Forest Lake, MN, passed away May 23, 2016, at her home in Golden, CO.
Ann was born November 15, 1939, in Green Bay, Wisconsin to Glenn and Mildred Stauff. On September 1, 1962, she was united in holy matrimony to Richard Allan Trainer in Allouez, WI. They shared an appreciation and love of nature. Together they went on hundreds of adventures in the woods of northern Wisconsin and Minnesota, canoeing, kayaking, and camping.
For over 30 years Ann was a strong part of Dick’s accounting business in Forest Lake, MN and was instrumental in its success. Ann was not only a bookkeeper extraordinaire, she was a spectacular mother.
Ann made beautiful things. From quilting to baking amazing pies and keeping weed-free- gorgeous gardens. She had a natural ability to make beauty in whatever she touched.
In 1997, she and Dick moved to Wabasha. They were both very active members of St. Patrick’s Church in Albany, MN. She had an abiding faith that gave her strength. In her younger years, she attended the same church as Vince Lombardi before, as legend has it, he ascended into heaven and was seated at the right hand of God. Ann was the ultimate Packers fan and also had a wonderful sense of humor.
Ann had an unconditional love for her children and family and a kind heart to everyone she knew.
She is survived by her children Scott (Donna Rushing) Trainer and Melissa Trainer and her children, Jay Wyatt and Josephina Anne Elowsky; one brother, Glenn “Butch” (Marlene) Stauff of De Pere, WI; five sisters, Maryann (Jules) Andrews, Co Springs, CO, Ellen (Lloyd) Van Lanen of De Pere, WI, Roberta “Bobbie” (Tom) Conard of Green Bay, WI, Cathryn “Pepper” O’Brien of Sussex, WI, and Claire (Bill) Gifford of Danville, IL; a sister-in-law, Maureen Stauff of Green Bay, WI; along with many other dear relatives and friends who will all miss her dearly.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband Dick, November of 2014; her parents; a brother, Louis Stauff; a brother-in-law, John O’Brien; along with several beloved dogs, Honey Dew, and Goldie to name a few.
Graveside services were held Sunday, May 29, 2016, at the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Lyndon Station, WI, where she was laid to rest next to her wild Norwegian husband. Father Eugene Trainer officiated. Memorials may be given in Ann’s name to a Humane Society of your choice. Online condolences may be offered at www.torkelsonfuneralhome.com.
