Barbara A. Weinrich, 78, Wabasha

Barbara A. Weinrich, age 78, of Wabasha, died at her home on Sunday, May 14, 2017 surrounded by her loving family after losing her battle with a chronic illness.  She was born March 9, 1939 in Hammond, MN, the daughter of William and Camilla (Murray) Stevens.  She attended school in Hammond.  She married Gerald Weinrich February 21, 1957 at the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua, IA.  Barb was a homemaker.  She also worked several years as a banquet waitress for the Rochester Elks Club and later she worked at Pace Dairy in Rochester.  She took early retirement at age 50 so she and Jerry could travel in their motor home.  They wintered in Arizona for 10 years.  The couple moved to Wabasha from Rochester in 2003.
Barb was a former member of Homestead United Methodist Church in Rochester.  She also was a charter member of the Rochester Eagles Aerie #2228 Auxiliary.  Currently, she was a member of the Wabasha American Legion Post #50 Auxiliary and the Burkhardt-Roemer VFW Post #4086 Auxiliary.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and her many friends.  She also enjoyed their family camping trips, pull tabs, and she was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan.
 She is survived by her husband, Gerald Weinrich, Wabasha, MN; son and daughter-in-law, Gerald Scott Weinrich and Pam King, Rochester, MN; daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Jon Klande, Wabasha, MN; two granddaughters, Bobbie Klande, Rochester, MN, Amber (John) Crellin, London, England; one great-grandson, Nicholas Spratte, Rochester, MN; her beloved dog, Bailey; sisters, Marilyn (Loyde) Wilcox, Wabasha, MN, Joy Sweet, Byron, MN, Cheryl Keller, Rochester, MN, Michele (Kevin) Tlougan, Plainview, MN, Nonie (John) Arleth, Rochester, MN; brothers, Ronnie Stevens (Rhonda Anderson) Wabasha, MN, Larry Stevens, Elgin, MN; several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Camilla, and two brothers, Bob and Terry Stevens.
 A memorial service was held at the Abbott Funeral Home on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at 2:00 pm.  Interment will be at a later date at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester.  Family and friends called at the funeral home on Sunday one hour before the service.  Following the service everyone was invited to the Wabasha VFW Club to celebrate her life and enjoy refreshments and time together.  The Abbott Funeral Home of Wabasha was in charge of arrangements.  www.abbottfh.com
