Dalton L. ‘Bud’ Langanki, 89, Wabasha

Dalton L. “Bud” Langanki, age 89, of Wabasha, died Sunday evening, December 20, 2015, at St. Elizabeth’s Nursing Home in Wabasha with his loving family at his side.
He was born July 10, 1926 in Clearwater, MN, the son of Robert and Catherine (Corne) Langanki. Bud served his country in the U. S. Army during WWII, serving in the south Pacific. He worked for the State of Minnesota Department of Transportation as a bridge supervisor. He retired in 1983. Bud married Delores Wobbe September 20, 1951 at St. Felix Catholic Church in Wabasha. Delores died February 27, 2010.
Bud was a member of St. Felix Catholic Church, a 61 year member of the Wabasha American Legion Post #50 and a life member of the Burkhardt-Roemer VFW Post #4086. He enjoyed fishing, cracking walnuts in his garage and visiting the casino. Together with his wife, Delores, and Bob and Mary Passe, they founded the Wabasha County ARC. He was extremely proud of his time spent in the military.
He is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Dennis Iverson, Owatonna, MN, Linda and Dan Monahan, Plainview, MN; sons, Michael Langanki, Wabasha, MN, Robert Langanki, Millville, MN and his friend, Daphne Langbehn, Zumbrota, MN; four grandchildren, Ethan and Justine Monahan, Angela (Mitch) Ohnstad and Amber Iverson; three great-grandchildren, Finley and Piper Ohnstad and Ava Monahan; sisters-in-law, Kathleen Langanki, Big Fork, MN, Charlotte Langanki, Monticello, MN, and Marie Passe, Delphine Wobbe, and Tina Wobbe Schuth, all of Wabasha, MN; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert and Ann Wobbe, Wabasha, MN; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Delores, his parents, Robert and Catherine Langanki and two brothers, Harold and Roden Langanki.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, December 24, 2015 at 10:30am at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center Chapel, 1200 5th Grant Blvd. W., Wabasha, with the Reverend Monsignor Thomas Cook officiating. Military rites will follow and be performed by the Wabasha American Legion and the Burhardt-Roemer VFW Posts and the MNARNG Honor Guard. Family and friends may call at the chapel on Thursday one hour before the service. Memorials are preferred to Wabasha County DAC 611 Broadway Ave., Wabasha, MN.
