Eleanor E. ‘Babe’ Schurhammer, 97

Eleanor E. ‘Babe’ Schurhammer, age 97, of Wabasha, died Friday, September 9, 2016, at St. Elizabeth’s Health Care Center in Wabasha. She was born September 29, 1917, in Watopa Township, Wabasha County, the daughter of Andrew and Emma (Peterson) Linde. Eleanor was a homemaker.
She was a long time member of the Weaver United Methodist Church in Weaver and the Kellogg American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed painting as a hobby and she dearly loved her dogs, Timmy I, Timmy II and Timmy III.
She is survived by cousins, Betty Lamey, Winona, MN, Sharon (Larry) Stromness, Kellogg, MN, Al (Iris) Lindbeck, Kellogg, MN and other family members. She was preceded in death by one brother, Harold Rieck, and her two dogs, Timmy I and Timmy II.
A funeral service was held on Monday, September 12, 2016, at 11:00am at Weaver United Methodist Church with the Reverend Lyle Krumrie officiating. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery at Minneiska. Casket bearers were Marty and Lori Miller, Mark Hoff, Al Lindbeck, John Wingert, and Larry Stromness. Family and friends called at the church on Monday one hour before the service. Memorials are preferred to Weaver United Methodist Church or to St. Elizabeth’s Health Care Center. The Abbott Funeral Home of Wabasha was in charge of arrangements. www.abbottfh.com
