Janice L. Lamey, 76, Kellogg
Janice L. Lamey, 76 and longtime resident of Kellogg, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2020, at Gundersen Saint Elizabeth Health Care Center, Wabasha, MN.
Janice Lee was born December 26, 1943, to Vernon and Gladys (Wennison) Johnson, in Lewiston, MN. She graduated from Wabasha High School, in 1961. On August 18, 1962, she married David J. Lamey at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Kellogg and together they had three children: Scott, Brian and Jason. They later divorced.
She retired from Hearth-n-Home Technologies, Lake City, MN after 20 years of employment and she was formerly employed at Riverside Electronics, Lewiston and Winona, MN. She also was a bartender and waitress at various establishments in the area.
Janice loved to watch her grandchildren in their sporting events over the years. She also enjoyed watching sports especially her Minnesota teams: Vikings, Twins, and Gophers. She was willing to play cards anytime, she followed the community news at the Town & Country Café, Kellogg every morning and would play bingo at the various events.
She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law: Scott and Maria Lamey; Jason and Patrice Lamey; seven grandchildren: Seth Lamey; Samantha (Jon) Chavez; and Sophie (Wil) Greenheck; and Jason Jr. (Jessica), Brock, Kylie and Bo Lamey; a great granddaughter Lucy Chavez; a step-granddaughter, Valerie (Marcus) Clark; 4 step-great-granddaughters, Eliana, Gabri, and Mila Clark and Mallory; a sister Carol (John) Marx; two brothers: Gary Johnson and John (Kathy) Johnson and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Brian Lamey; a sister Marlys Flies and an infant sister Diana.
There will be private family committal prayers and interment at Greenfield Cemetery, Kellogg.
