Kathleen Jean Kennebeck, 88

 Kathleen Jean Kennebeck, age 88, of Plainview, formerly of Wabasha and Kellogg, died Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at St. Isidore Health Center of Greenwood Prairie in Plainview. She was born January 20, 1929, in Wabasha, the daughter of Louis and Pearl (Dugan) Kennebeck. Kay was raised on farms in the Kellogg area. She graduated from Kellogg High School in 1947. She married Anthony Macias in San Antonio, TX in 1953. They later divorced. Kay worked in the hotel industry in Texas and California for many years. Later she moved to Alaska where she worked 31 years in management at Big Timber Hotels in Anchorage. In 1991 she moved to Wabasha to be near her family. While in Wabasha she worked part-time at the Nelson Hotel in Nelson, WI and Paul Schuth Insurance in Wabasha. She moved to St. Elizabeth’s Health Care Center in Wabasha in 2004, and for the past six years she lived at St. Isidore’s in Plainview.
 Kay is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Bill Deming, Wabasha, MN; nieces, Nancy (Darrell) Cox, Vale, SD, Rhonda (Roy) Waterland, Vale, SD, Ellen (Roger) O’Grady, Sturgis, SD; nephew, Ron (Ellen) Kennebeck, Sturgis, SD and sister-in-law, Caroline Kennebeck, Sturgis, SD. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Pearl Kennebeck, brother, Robert Kennebeck and infant brother, William Kennebeck.
 A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2017, at 1:30 pm at the Abbott Funeral Home in Wabasha with Deacon John Hust officiating.
