Last Baby delivered at St. Elizabeth's
The last baby born at Saint Elizabeth’s Medical Center is the first baby for Eric and Kendra Walker of Zumbro Falls.
Baby Waylon James Walker was born on Thursday, May 28, 2015. While the birth did not go exactly as planned (Waylon was a c-section delivery), proud mom and dad reported their very content and calm baby weighed in at 8 lbs. 4 oz., was 21 inches long, and sports 16 3⁄4” shoulders!
“We are so thankful we were able to deliver at Saint Elizabeth’s. The nursing staff was great and so attentive,” Kendra and Eric commented. “Sharon (Riester, certified nurse-midwife with Mayo Clinic Health System-Wabasha) was awesome. We really appreciated having her from the beginning through delivery. During this time, we developed a special relationship and a high level of trust.”
Eric and Kendra finished building a new home just two weeks ago. Now they’re looking forward to getting settled in and introducing Waylon to his tractor themed nursery. Eric, who rebuilds tractors, also farms and sells seeds.
To mark the final scheduled delivery at Saint Elizabeth’s, Deacon Jim Weingart delivered a beautiful blessing for baby Waylon, Kendra and Eric. The new family also received a bountiful bag of goodies, including an $89.00 cash gift to commemorate the 89-year legacy of birthing services at Saint Elizabeth’s Medical Center.
