LeRoy E. Guethlein, 74, Winona

 LeRoy E. Guethlein, age 74, of Winona, formerly of Wabasha, died of natural causes Friday, January 5, 2018 at his home in Winona. He was born February 21, 1943 in Baraboo, WI, the son of Roy and Beulah (Arends) Guethlein. The family moved to Wabasha when he was young. He was a graduate of Wabasha High School. LeRoy served his country in the U. S. Navy from 1962-1983, serving in Antarctica, New Zealand, Germany, China and Vietnam.
 He enjoyed bowling, going to the casino, playing cards and visiting with his friends.
 LeRoy is survived by sister and brother-in-law, Ellie and George Schwalbe, Wabasha, MN; sister-in-law, Noreda Guethlein, Kellogg, MN; nieces and nephews and his special friend, Carin Hyter, Rushford, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister and brother-in-law, Lucy and Jim Fritz and brother, Donald.
 A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 11:00am at Abbott Funeral Home in Wabasha with Mr. Scott Schwalbe officiating. Military rites performed by the Wabasha American Legion Post #50, the Burkhardt-Roemer VFW Post #4086 and the U. S. Navy will follow the memorial service at the funeral home.
