Lorraine Clarkson, 98, Wabasha
The funeral service for Lorraine Clarkson will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 1, at the United Church of Christ, 317 2nd Street West in Wabasha with Pastor James Clausen officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday at Riverview Cemetery, 333 Annapolis Street E. in West St. Paul.
Lorraine Clarkson, 98, of Wabasha and formerly of Lake City, passed away Thursday morning, January 25, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Health Care Center in Wabasha. Lorraine Chrysinthia Funke was born August 16, 1919 in Dumfries to Lawrence and Theresa (Harder) Funke. She attended school in Dumfries and graduated from Wabasha High School in 1936. She married Hilmar Clarkson on August 6, 1938 in St. Paul, he died July 28, 1967.
Lorraine lived most of her lifetime on a farm near Rosemount, MN and moved to the Lake City area in 1970. She entered St. Elizabeth Health Care Center in August 2013. Lorraine loved to garden, she enjoyed flowers and growing vegetables for canning for her family. She also loved to cook, spend time reading, traveling, going deer hunting, fishing, and dancing.
Lorraine is survived by three daughters, Shirley Mandery of Lake City; Cynthia (Ronald) Stein of Oak Grove, and Marie (Charles) Perkins of Bloomington; a son, Herbert Eli (Pat) Clarkson of Shakopee; 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four daughters Cora, Jeanette, Patsy, and Audrey, one brother Cortland, one sister Wilma, and one great-granddaughter Siera Reneé.
Friends and family may visit from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 31, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Lake City Chapel in Lake City and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
