Marian E. Haack, 75, Wabasha

 Marian E. Haack, age 75, of Wabasha, died Friday, January 29, 2016, at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center Nursing Home in Wabasha. She was born on April 24, 1940, in Spring Valley, MN to Harvey and Cora (Nelson) Rowe. She graduated from Spring Valley High School in 1958. After graduation, Marian began working in the Spring Valley Bakery. She married Daryl H. Haack, on November 24, 1976 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Spring Valley. Daryl and Marian were the owners of the Spring Valley Bakery until they retired in 1981. In 1985 the couple moved to their home on Sand Prairie, rural Wabasha.
 For 28 years after retiring, Marian and Daryl spent their winters in Port Isabel, Texas. They also traveled to Mexico, Japan, Singapore, Europe, Rome, New York, Nashville, and Branson. Marian enjoyed sewing, reading, and watching the Twins and the Vikings. She and Daryl also enjoyed boating on the Mississippi and riding motorcycle.
 Marian was a faithful member of Faith Lutheran Church of Wabasha. She was active in the church’s ladies aid group and a member of its bible study group.
 Marian is survived by two step-children, Peter (Brenda) Haack, Spring Valley, MN, Diane (John) Capelle, Rochester, MN; four step-grandchildren, Danielle (Troy) Harwood, Shawn (Nicole) Capelle, Brandon (Stephanie) Capelle, and Brooke Capelle; four step-great-grandchildren, Alexys, Ashlyn, Brantley Harwood, and Lucas Capelle; brothers, Donald Rowe, Spring Valley, MN, Roger (Peggy) Rowe, Blaine, MN, Orvin (Janice) Rowe, Rochester, MN; sister, Donna Rowe, Spring Valley, MN; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Daryl Haack, parents, Harvey and Cora Rowe, brother, Harvey Rowe, Jr., sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Marvin Heffern.
 A funeral service was held on Sunday, January 31, 2016 at 2pm at Faith Lutheran Church in Wabasha with the Reverend David Knox officiating. Interment was at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester. Family and friends called at the church on Sunday one hour before the service. The Abbott Funeral Home of Wabasha was in charge of arrangements. www.abbottfh.com
