Norman James Eastman, Sr., 92

 Norman James Eastman, Sr., age 92, of Kirbyville, Missouri, passed away Monday, July 4, 2016. He was born January 10, 1924, in Wheeler, Wisconsin, the son of James and Ellen Eastman. Norm was joined in marriage to the love of his life on June 22, 1947, to Delores Wieman. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks.
 Norman proudly served our country as a sharpshooter in the United States Army during World War II. He fought in all five of the major campaigns, including the Battle of the Bulge, earning a Bronze Star for his courageous service. After his service, Norman worked as a lineman for L.E. Meyers Electric and Power Company in Illinois. After retirement, he and Delores moved to Kirbyville. Norman was a lifetime Mason, attaining the level of Master Mason. He was also a member of the American Legion. Norman enjoyed fishing, gardening and was well known for the beautiful furniture he made. Most of all, Norman loved his country and his family. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
 He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Timothy Daniel Eastman; one brother; and 11 sisters.
 Norman is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Delores Eastman of the home; seven children, Linda Brassard and husband Richard of Minooka, Illinois, Susan Ruedin and husband Michael of Forsyth, Missouri, Sharon DeWeerdt and husband Neil of Geneseo, Illinois, Kathy Scott of Oklahoma, Norman Eastman, Jr. and wife Tosha of Galena, Missouri, Lori Lande and husband Herb of Joliet, Illinois, Mark Eastman and wife Dawn of Mobile, Alabama; 20 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; a brother, Wayne Eastman and wife Shirley of Reads Landing, Minnesota; as well as several nieces and nephews.
 Burial will be at a later time in Joliet.
